lyrics

We drove out past the sun, where the horses slept
among the thorns of a dusty deserted road
at the end of Speedway
The night brought the cold, the windy blew and burned my nose
We began the walk, through the trees
the barrel cactus, and saguaro arms
hearing voices in the wind
The light from the lantern I brought lit the way
So I turned the dial, the be blind for awhile
but the moon, chased the darkness away
A sickle in the sky, cut through the night
and it felt warm for awhile
A small bed of heat, crept through my feet
and it's warmth engulfed my hands in their fire
The flames led us here, the great cliff over of the valley
We stared into the deep, canyons of sleep
the darkness made them feel so endless
We sat upon the rocks under the light of your moon
and your voice echoed through my head like a tomb
at the bottom of this endless valley
I turned my head to admire the red of your hair
A small flush of a deep mahogany sheen
The same color as the fire I was holding
And the burning never stops it's just growing
