trying to recall days that have long since past
i tend to leave things behind, memories and such
vague recollections of sleeping on my old mattress
in a friend’s living room
i would stay up all night on the internet
drinking and making mistakes
sometimes i would leave the house at 4AM and stumble around University
walking as far as my inebriation would take me
to Dry River, the train tracks
i had a backpack full of bum wine
a phase I was going through

to my back and my brain
other days i would drive drunk to a gay bar
in secret so i could be myself
or at least another version of me
it’s weird to think that at the time
